Igor Zhislin

Igor Zhislin

Igor Zhislin was born in 1971 in Kharkov, Ukraine. He was the Kharkov Regional Scholastic Champion as well as the Ukrainian Student Champion (one of his college teammates on the Championship team was Alex Stripunsky) before moving to the US. A Middle Tennessee resident since 1990, he is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mathematics, and has worked for a number of years in actuarial and financial fields. Igor has coached chess at various levels in both Ukraine and US. This summer he taught chess at our annual summer camp with tremendous success; many of our students have requested to bring him to be their instructor again in the future camps.
