Andre’ Duvall
Instructor for Young Chess Players
Dr. André Duvall holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Carolina. Active as a solo performer, freelance accompanist, church organist, and music educator, Dr. Duvall was appointed Coordinator of Class Piano Studies at UNCG in 2012, planning curricula and training other instructors. Dr. Duvall was selected by the University of Memphis from among 250 instructors to receive 2010 Graduate Assistant Meritorious Teaching Award for excellence and innovation in the classroom.
An avid chess player, he has serves as a classroom instructor for Mid-South Chess and has worked with Mid-South Chess Camp since 2008. Believing in the importance of developing a well-rounded chess player, he incorporates music and art into the curriculum of the young chess student for an enjoyable and memorable experience.
